Congratulations to the next President of the United States, Barack Obama.
Well, I did what I could and I made my vote for the other guy. That being said, I do hold a certain amount of respect for the Presidential Office and as such will acknowledge his position with the respect it deserves... cautiously and somewhat begrudgingly... but with respect none the less.
I will support him when I agree with any course of action that I believe will benefit the country. Then, with great enthusiasm, I am more than ready to oppose any policy which I believe will be a detriment.
Now in the days ahead, I look forward to seeing what kind of president he turns out to be. The 'empty suit' now has a president inside of it. What hope will he bring and to whom? What change will he bring and how beneficial or disastrous will it turn out to be for the United States?
As he begins to receive briefings from the various intelligence agencies and the current administration, I wonder if he will truly take all things into account and prioritize a wise course of action over partisan liberal ideals when the time for it arrives.
There is no doubt that I, as a conservative from the evangelical persuasion, will be opposed to a large number of his policies and will do my part to be sure that he doesn't get too carried away. But I will also keep in mind that this election was of the people and by the people. I live in a nation where at this time, there are more people wanting him and his policies than there are people wanting the policy choices that I would choose. I except that and will endeavor to persuade others to understand my perspective as to what qualities are best suited for a president and why I believe they are best in the days prior to the next election. I encourage you to do the same.
That is the beauty of this country. Change happens whenever we as a nation elect for it to happen.
The next few years will undoubtedly hold many surprises.
Alright, I'm done. That's about as diplomatic as I can get.
